In a couple of weeks, the Red Vic will be presenting an evening of “Sexy Euro Cinema” as part of the the 5th annual Good Vibrations Indie Erotic Film Fest (IXFF 2010). Good Vibrations has invited Jennifer to show her films Matinee, Headshot and a preview clip of Blue Artichoke Films’ as-yet-unreleased Belgian collaboration Skin. Like. Sun. (Des Jours Plus Belles Que La Nuit). As a bonus, she will also show a variety of her favorite recent European erotica and porn clips, including:
Elin Magnusson’s “Skin”, an odd and yet arousing video made with a cell phone as part of a Swedish government-funded feminist collaboration
One of Murielle Scherre’s hip and witty “cute porn” Belgian music videos. (Note: Her music-driven vignette film was a smash hit in Belgium, selling 20,000 copies in just a few days)
French collective Panik Qulture’s tiny underground film combining explicit sex with quirky humor
Jennifer wanted to offer American viewers a peek into the new wave of artistic erotic film that’s flourished abroad over the last five years so. Most Americans probably wouldn’t have had a chance to see these films, since they tend to run at European film festivals and are only just starting to be available here. There’s quite a variety. Some of the films have their roots in contemporary video installation, others in music video or performance art.
Jennifer is visiting San Francisco especially to do a question and answer session with the audience after the show.
