NVVS: “Ethics, Diversity & Porn” panel
On Tuesday December 15, I’m presenting with 5 other experts at the “Ethics, Diversity & Porn” panel held by the National Scientific Organization of Sexologists.
I’m very much looking forward to this panel because it’s a chance to debate with six experts from different fields –journalism, clinical practice, sex education, culture creation, filmmaking — as we come together to share ideas and answer audience questions.
Jennifer’s examples of diversity in porn
As I’m sure we’ll discuss at the panel, these amazing examples are typical of what you might find at an alternative porn platform like platform PinkLabel.tv (which I HIGHLY recommended for their diversity and ethical business practices) or at a porn/erotic film festival specialized in interesting, arousing, aesthetically appealing movies, Like PornFilmFestival Berlin, La Fete Du Slip, or CineKink/NY. These filmmakers have confirmed they are more than happy to share a short clip with us.
Adorn (dir. Jennifer Lyon Bell, Blue Artichoke Films)
- An experimental erotic game. A man and a woman face each other naked; by the end they are mostly clothed and utterly exhausted. What happens in between is unique and completely improvised by the performers themselves. Restrained by the rules of their game, there is teasing, fighting, fucking, fingering, kissing. A love scene in reverse.
- Performers: Sadie Lune and Parker Marx
- Where to find it: Here on this platform. More about the film or Rent/download here

Tribute (dir. Max Disgrace and Lina Bembe)
- “Tribute” re-imagines the idea of a lesbian cruising ground in London, in direct response to Annette Kennerley’s “Sex Lies Religion” (1993). At a time when physical spaces for dykes to freely express their sexuality in London is scarce, “Tribute” is a materialisation of this fantasy space in film form, enacted in the same historic cruising ground – Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington – where Kennerley shot her film decades before. Includes beautiful BDSM erotic imagery.
- Performers: Max Disgrace and Lina Bembe
- Where to find it: On queer-owned platform PinkLabel.tv

Going Here (dir. Courtney Trouble, Trouble Films)
- What if we could turn places of trauma into places of pleasure? What if we could close our eyes and dream, what if sound guided us through our fantasies? What if our heart beats were louder than halting stops, if we were open to love in scary places? In Going Here, Carnegie and Jiz explore the edges of danger, public sex, experimentation, and lust. This movie is about letting our fantasies take over all else. Note: See Carnegie Velvet’s bio for fascinating backstory on their feelings of trauma-empowerment through a safe porn-creation process.
- Performers: Jiz Lee and Carnegie Velvet (formerly Lyric Seal)
- Where to find it: Courtney’s own QueerPorn.tv platform

If you have more questions about diversity in porn, reach out anytime at info@blueartichokefilms.com. I have a huge collection of clips and regularly give lectures and workshops designed to educate and inform everyone about the positive possibilities of porn. See also the Curation section here at the Blue Artichoke Films platform for sampling of events that I like work on to raise the dialogue around porn.
