Queer Lisboa Film Festival screens Matinée

The Portugese film festival Queer Lisboa has a great reputation for being open minded about sexuality, so we were charmed that they have invited Matinée to be part of their festival this year.

Admittedly, we were a little surprised when we got the call that the Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Portugal wanted to screen Matinée. Um, do you know the film features a male-female couple? we tentatively offered, not wanting to tread on anyone’s open-minded definition of queer sexuality. And wondering if perhaps they meant to screen Headshot, which is our interpretation of a classic gay Warhol film.

Fortunately, there was no misunderstanding: This year, Queer Lisboa is offering a special straight-themed erotica section in this September’s 14th edition of the festival. We’re honored to show Matinee there.

WHAT: Matinee at Queer Lisboa Film Festival
WHEN: September 17-25, 2010 (exact date TBD)
WHERE: Cinema So Jorge, Lisbon, Portugal
MORE INFO: Full program will be posted here in early September
